6 Ways to Become a Happier Persont

I visited an old friend of mine the other day. Their house is perfect, nice cars, two children the perfect age apart, it seems like everything is perfect. At work, his career is going well. He is on track to become an executive at his company, that he had the perfect time yet, after spending a weekend with them clear the family is not a happy family. There seems to be a feeling of disconnect between them, the battles, the negative behavior of the children, etc. This is obviously a void that can not be filled by all material objects and work successes they have garnered.

I had to wonder why is that? How do you avoid letting your life to get to a point where you have everything you need, or want, but still to fill unfulfilled?. Here are some tips that I've discovered through a combination of books, magazines and online resources.

Make a plan for yourself

Make a realistic plan for goals that you feel will make you happy. Sometimes it's not about completing the goal, but the effort and hard work put you to get there. Hence, the harder you work, the better you will feel about yourself because you feel better about going after something you value. If it is not valuable to you, it's not worth it to work or sacrifice to achieve the goal.

Surround yourself with positive people

This is often the hardest part of being happy, the recognition of the people you hang out with may not be the best for you, choose to surround yourself with happy and positive people and relationships that accentuates the goals you want to achieve for yourself. If you are around people who are satisfied with their emotional state, that feeling will be contagious.

Failure is inevitable

If something goes wrong, or you are not on anything not wallow in self-pity. People who like to accept their failure as a learning experience and move on. You can use one million failures, all you need is a big success moments. Mathematically, it is statistically impossible to have any errors, you will eventually come to success, wallowing in self-pity just the fault longer.

Appreciate what / whom you have

Do not ignore the great things at this moment in life. Take a few seconds a day to think about the beautiful things, people, children, pets are part of your life. These few seconds will allow you to focus on the positive things in your life and you will see change often on bad days.

Indulge

I once heard Oprah say that "you have to pay yourself first, no matter what", with that being said you should take the time every day and have to pay, it might be a compliment, a delicious lunch, or just an extra time, these are all ways to unconsciously put yourself in a better mood
